SCHOOL IN THE FRONT ROW

The School in the Front Row is a project carried out under the National Plan of Cinema and Images for the School – promoted by the mic – Ministry of Culture and the MIM – Ministry of Education of Merit – involving, throughout the school year 2022/23 classes of Primary and Secondary School of both I and II grade in a series of free activities: educational activities for teachers and students, visits to the Museum, audiovisual literacy workshops and civic education; cinema screenings for cinemambiente Junior, Torino Film Festival and Lovers Film Festival and also the national competition cinemambiente JR. Through the project, the National Cinema Museum expresses its commitment to putting young people at the center of its educational mission and making them active protagonists of its cultural policy.

Primary, Secondary I and II grade Every month until May 2023 – 9.30 am | Cinema Massimo and streaming The school in the front row – Cinemambiente Junior The Cinemambiente Junior events continue within the project The school in the front row: a cycle of screenings and meetings, aimed at primary school students, 1st and 2nd grade. Students can watch screenings at the Cinema Massimo or in class, via streaming. A vast and articulated program, divided into five specific sections, will allow to deepen the fundamental themes of environmental education of young and very young people: waste, energy, food, water and climate change. The project La Scuola in Prima Fila – cinemambiente Junior is realized in collaboration with Eduiren, Cooperativa Arcobaleno, Arpa Piemonte, Legambiente Piemonte Valle d’Aosta, MAcA – Museo A come Ambiente, Casa Comune, Cooperativa Arnica, Slow FoodeHydroaid. Secondary of II grade Thursday 30 March h. 9.30 | Cinema Massimo Lovers Film Festival/Off – The school in the front row Second appointment with the Lovers Festival as part of the project The school in the front row.  At the end, students will be able to talk with Angelo Acerbi and Elsi Perino of Lovers Film Festival and representatives of the Association The Blue Cup.

Lukas Dhont Close (Belgium, Netherlands, France 2022, 105′, col. V.O. sott ita) Special Grand Prix of the Cannes Jury 2022, the film collected a deep story of friendship and identity research told through the bond of two thirteen-year-old boys united by a fraternal love. Their relationship is transformed by contact with the outside world and with the challenges of growth and social conventions. An unexpected event will change their fate forever. Primary, Secondary and Secondary Teachers Until May 2023 – Teacher training | Palazzo Nuovo Innovative methodologies for teaching and Film Literacy A series of free meetings aimed at teachers on the innovative teaching methodology 3RPlay, literacy to film language and gender identity. The objective is to accompany the teachers in a path that makes them able to experiment in class the methodology learned. The course, lasting 18 hours, will take place in the presence in the afternoon, at the Multimedia Laboratory G. Quazza of Palazzo Nuovo. Oltre alle proiezioni dei film e alla formazione insegnanti, La Scuola in prima fila prevede per le classi una lezione gratuita di introduzione al linguaggio cinematografico. Durata 1h30’ ca.

Primary and Secondary Schools Until May by appointment – Virtual tours | Online The Museum in the classroom An unprecedented opportunity to experience the magic of the Cinema Museum, even at a distance, and to get to know the most precious and evocative works directly from the school desks.  The virtual thematic visits are interactive: a guide will accompany the students through the halls of the Museum, with insights on the most important objects of the collection and the protagonists of the history of cinema.
